Grandpa's Birthday

l

The kids and I spent Labor Day weekend in KC to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday. It was a great weekend....not too hot and we got to see all the family. Despite airport delays and a car that wouldn't start when we got home, the airplane part of the trip went well. I think Grant is finally old enough to consider a spring break. Grandma and Grandpa were thrilled to see us and made sure that Morgan had a weekend of many firsts:
1. He caught his first fish!
2. He had a haircut by Uncle Mark
3. He got to hold my cousin Randi's snake.
4. They also both got to go out on my uncle's lake in row boat style raft with my dad.

It was great to see everyone and to wish my dad happy birthday.

Derrick and Debbie's Wedding

Derrick and Debbie were married on Saturday August 27th in Ft Collins. Doug was the co-best man and the kids were the ring bearers. Morgan did a great job carrying the rings and Grant did a great job tagging along! The flower girls are Charlotte and Leila (Debbie's niece). It was a beautiful wedding and we all had a wonderful time.

Morgan's First Day of Kindergarten

s

Morgan started kindergarten on Thursday August 18th. His teacher is Mrs Mueller at Crestview elementary. He has kindergarten in the morning, followed by lunch. Then kindergarten enrichment in the afternoon. The final stop of the day is YMCA aftercare (at school) until I pick him up after work.

There are a few kids in his class that he knows from daycare and preschool. The kid sitting next to him at his table is Mattison from preschool.

It's been a big change and there's lot of transition throughout the day which is something new for him. I'm hoping that by the end of the first full week he will have adjusted to the new schedule.

Making Cookies

The guys made yummy cookies! Grant got to stay up late so he could have a cookie before bed.

What a guy!

The iphone games get him to sit still long enough for things to happen!
