Easter and Morgans Birthday

Sunday April 4th was Easter and Morgans fourth birthday. Grandma B spent the weekend with us. Derrick, Leigh/Doug/Charlotte came over for Easter/birthday celebrations. Derrick brought an awesome robot pinata. Well reinforced was the best way to describe that thing. Two kids whacking it failed to break it open. Morgan abandoned his stick for his chainsaw and that didn't solve the problem. Derrick eventually just tore into it.

By dinner time, all kids were a little too sugared up. Morgan melted down when he found out Leigh made a bunny cake rather than the super hero cake he requested. We managed to keep him together by pointing out that he would have a super hero cake for the party with his friends in two weeks. It was also suggested that the bunny was slightly rabid AND had super powers! That made it a bit more manly. It was a great cake and turned out well for being Leighs first cake creation.

The First Day of Spring

We had a foot of wet, heavy snow the day before the arrival of spring. Snow people invaded the cul-de-sac Saturday morning. We also dusted off the double bike trailer and took the kids for a quick spin. Morgan is an old pro and Grant had no issues as long as his brother went with him. Once the weather is consistently nice I can start biking into daycare/work again. I've missed riding my bike!

St Patricks Day

Grandma B sent the matching shirts. They were pretty cute!

First Steps with the Block Cart

He's making progress with the walking!

Stoner Kids

Another failed attempt to photograph both kids.

They were high on pancakes!

Grant: Eight/Nine Months

Grant hit nine months on March 1st. His stats are:

Height: 29inches = 75%
Weight: 18lbs 60z = 15%

He's long and skinny!

This was a busy month for the little guy. He's babbling like crazy and I think he's starting to use some sign language and wave good-bye. He's pulling up, cruising, and falling in a controlled manner. He loves to clap, click his tongue, explore the cabinets and dishwasher, and take a bath with his brother. He's also starting to become attached to a lovey. He'll crawl over to the crib and reach in for his lion.

His four top, front teeth have just cut through. He also had his first ear infection. That experience was a parental first for Doug and me as well. Until the ear infection and stitches, we had never taken a sick child to the Dr. We had also never filled a prescription for antibiotics. What a blast from the past that was (the prescription...not taking a sick baby to the Dr). It's the same pink stuff that has to be shaken and refrigerated from my youth! It did the trick though. They checked his ears at his 9 month appointment and they looked great.

He was a bit grumpy during the cold/ear infection and the teething but he's back to his incredibly happy self...what a treat!
