Summer Fun

I dropped Morgan's daycare hours for the summer so I could spend extra time with him while on maternity leave and to just get in some fun summer outings that normally fall through the cracks when we're both working. The experience was something I was really looking forward to....until I realized that I also had a new baby to take care of! The first week with both kids was extremely overwhelming! Things have gotten better. I'm getting use to the lack of sleep and Grant is sleeping more at night. Plus I've realized that getting out and about is essential. The result is fun for everyone.

We're enjoying park visits, playing in the neighbors wading pool, and last weekend we went to a local farm.

First Bath and the guys

Notice the "spout" during the bath!

The Camping Trip

Soon after Grant's arrival, Doug took Morgan on his first camping trip. They both had a great time checking out caves/waterfalls, catching bugs, and cooking over the campfire.

Morgan and Grant

The view from the labor and delivery room!

Grant Martin McCuen was born Monday June 1st at 4:37 PM. He was four days late but made up for it by having a quick and easy delivery.

So far he's a great baby and we couldn't be happier....or more tired!

The Kitchen Is Done

The kitchen has been done for awhile but we've always had the problem of the desk area. When the counter top was installed no one thought of drilling a hole for wire management to the electrical outlet BELOW the counter top....except for Doug who was out-of-town. We let it linger hoping the counter top installers would stop by for free when they were in Boulder. It just wasn't happening though.

That left me very pregnant and very eager to wrap-up a few things around the house before the new baby arrived. Ready to make it happen, I called around a bit and Vladmir from the Granite Exchange set us up for a very reasonable price and almost instantaneous turn around. I called around 2pm and by 5:30pm the hole was drilled.

With access to the electrical outlet below, the guys set to work "fixin'" the wires and setting up the computer. When Doug got tired, Morgan took over and wrapped-up the job!

The Belly: 37 Weeks

Another B-day

By personal choice, my b-day went off with much less fan-fare than Morgan's.
