Halloween Fun

We fully celebrated Halloween this year.

Sunday morning there was a birthday party with face painting. Sunday afternoon there was a neighborhood block party. Then trick-or-treating Monday night. Not to mention school parties. Morgan's was Friday and Grant's was on Halloween.

They loved it all. Grant figured out the concept of candy this year and would have happily devoured his loot in one sitting.

Morgan is the ninja and Grant is Superman. Grant has been sporting his costume all month.

A girl at the birthday party screamed after seeing Morgan's face paint!

Grant's Big Boy Bed

It arrived last week and we picked it up Sat morning. He was sooo excited I thought he was going to explode. The store didn't open until 10AM and we were the first customers to walk in right after they unlocked the door!

He loves it and more importantly he stays in it!

The First Snow of Fall 2011

Our first snow arrived Wed Oct 26th....right on time! We got about 6-10 inches of wet, heavy snow.

Unfortunately, most of the trees still had their leaves. Wed morning the kids and I waded out and rescued the trees in the front yard. We didn't check on the backyard until Friday evening. Then we found a mess. The big tree by our deck was hit hard. It dropped branches on the bedroom balcony, the side of the house, and the neighbors roof. Luckily there was no major damage to the house. Western Disposal is doing an "add-on" service to our standard compost service and picking up the branches for free. I'll get a pic of the carnage on the curb next week.

Grant had a blast in the snow! It was all old school for Morgan. He went inside to sneak after-school snacks.

The Lego Catalog

What an exciting day....a Lego catalog arrived in the mail! I couldn't tear him away!

Head Stands

Fall in the Rockies

We spent a late Sept weekend in Frisco with Derrick and Debbie. The leaves were just starting to change which made for a gorgeous hike.

Fall Soccer: The Orange Fire Dolphins

Morgan played fall soccer again. His team was the Orange Fire Dolphins! This year he had a weekly practice which our neighbor Tannis helped me make happen. He had a great coach and all the kids showed amazing progress. The plan is for the team to regroup this spring.
