Mogan's Third Birthday

Saturday, April 4th was Morgan's third b-day. He had a great day. Grandma and Grandpa B were in town for the big day. We took the celebration out to the local children's museum to save ourselves the effort of clean-up pre/post party. A wise decision! All the kids enjoyed the play area and several hung out with us until they closed the place down at 6pm. A special thanks goes out to our neighbor Tannis who made the awesome cake....the entire thing was edible!

Car Park

We came home Thursday evening to find several cars parked on our back fence! A hint on the optical imagery: a car transporter was in the neighborhood.

Start to Finish

I couldn't resist a time course of the view from the dining room into the kitchen.

The Belly: 29 Weeks

Being pregnant is becoming an inconvenience!

Kitchen Is Done

The kitchen is pretty much done. The tile was laid and holes were patched/painted. The only little detail left is to drill a hole in the desk countertop for wire management. The day the countertops were installed, Doug was out-of-town. Unfortunately, no one else thought ahead regarding how wires would get to the electrical outlet BELOW the countertop. The picture with the phone line nicely shows our problem! Do we love it and appreciate it....YES!

If anyone is looking for tile I really have to recommend fastfloors.com. We put forth a huge effort narrowing down the tile selection. Unfortunately, filtering for price was something we should have done upfront. We made the mistake of asking for price quotes after we spent all the time/energy figuring out which two tile styles we liked and of course, we picked two pricey tile brands. I dug around on-line a bit and found fastfloors.com which offered an amazing deal on one of our selections. The price was 40% off the kitchen store price quote which already had 25% knocked off. The deal was so amazing that I had Claude telling me it was too good to be true. I really couldn't deal with starting the tile process all over again so I went for it and ordered the tile online. The experience turned out wonderfully. The tile arrived on time and in one piece. What was even better was the customer service and support, which is usually lacking for internet companies.

Cupcakes

Murphys Law: The day the old kitchen was destroyed, Morgan announced he wanted to make cupcakes. We had a temporary set-up but the one capability we were lacking was an oven. So I promised that we would make cupcakes as soon as the oven worked.

With a few weeks of planning I was able to do a little prep work. A Google search of kids/cupcakes gave me the frog cupcake idea. Not a bad outcome!
