Family Ski Day

Grant seemed into the concept of skiing so we took a chance and took him to Eldora for a morning of skiing. And he loved it!

The worst part was the temper tantrum because he wanted to ski on his own, sans a harness, like his brother and we made him use the magic carpet rather than the actual ski lift!

Morgan is ready to move onto the "real" mountain!

Hooky Day

Doug and I played hooky in early December and went cross country skiing in Rocky Mountain National Park. We had a great time!

Morgan's First Speedo

A milestone for a McCuen man

Brothers

A rare loving moment when we were making Christmas cookies!

New Fence

Our obviously 20 year old fence blew down in a November wind storm. There was no saving what was left so we now have a fancy new one!

Kindergarten Holiday Party

I helped out at Morgan's kindergarten holiday party.

It was fun meeting the other moms and spending some "special" time with Morgan and his school friends.

His teacher, Mrs Mueller, excelled at herding around a group of sugared up 5-6 year olds!

Hopefully I can make the Valentine party!

Nutella Toast

Hmmmmm, messy but yummy!

Chay's 5th Birthday Party

Morgan's buddy/our neighbor Chay hosted a climbing birthday party at a Boulder climbing gym. The kids had a great time and Spiderman showed up!

Crazy Hair Day

It was a theme day at school and Grant accepted the challenge!

Halloween Fun

We fully celebrated Halloween this year.

Sunday morning there was a birthday party with face painting. Sunday afternoon there was a neighborhood block party. Then trick-or-treating Monday night. Not to mention school parties. Morgan's was Friday and Grant's was on Halloween.

They loved it all. Grant figured out the concept of candy this year and would have happily devoured his loot in one sitting.

Morgan is the ninja and Grant is Superman. Grant has been sporting his costume all month.

A girl at the birthday party screamed after seeing Morgan's face paint!

Grant's Big Boy Bed

It arrived last week and we picked it up Sat morning. He was sooo excited I thought he was going to explode. The store didn't open until 10AM and we were the first customers to walk in right after they unlocked the door!

He loves it and more importantly he stays in it!

The First Snow of Fall 2011

Our first snow arrived Wed Oct 26th....right on time! We got about 6-10 inches of wet, heavy snow.

Unfortunately, most of the trees still had their leaves. Wed morning the kids and I waded out and rescued the trees in the front yard. We didn't check on the backyard until Friday evening. Then we found a mess. The big tree by our deck was hit hard. It dropped branches on the bedroom balcony, the side of the house, and the neighbors roof. Luckily there was no major damage to the house. Western Disposal is doing an "add-on" service to our standard compost service and picking up the branches for free. I'll get a pic of the carnage on the curb next week.

Grant had a blast in the snow! It was all old school for Morgan. He went inside to sneak after-school snacks.

The Lego Catalog

What an exciting day....a Lego catalog arrived in the mail! I couldn't tear him away!

Head Stands

Fall in the Rockies

We spent a late Sept weekend in Frisco with Derrick and Debbie. The leaves were just starting to change which made for a gorgeous hike.
