The Blue Stitches

An epic foam sword battle last Saturday ended when Morgan tripped and hit his head on the copper boiler. It was obvious that the resulting wound was a bit more than a "flesh wound". So he and I took a trip to the emergency room where he bravely allowed the Dr to put in three, blue stitches. Amazingly, no tears where shed during the process and he fully cooperated. He wasn't willing to have the wound photographed during the early stages. I managed to grab these shots with my phone while we waited for the complementary stitch removal in the emergency room (his right eyebrow). It's healing nicely but there will probably be a scar to make him look tough!

Bathtime Crack

Look at those butts :)

We have quite the range of butts in our house. One is massive and dimply. The other is non-existent.

They're both cute though!

Hitting the slopes

Morgan and Doug rang in the new year with a visit to Eldora Mountain....our local ski area. They went with neighbors Ed (grown-up) and Chay (3 year old) in Ed's mountaineering man van. It was the first time on skis for both kids so they stuck to the rope tow on the learning hill! The day was incredibly successful. Morgan skied well and Doug had a great time teaching him.

They had such a great time that we all went back the next day. Doug and Morgan took in a few "runs". I took pictures and snowshoed with Grant in the backpack. Things were going well until a big snowstorm blew in and all kids got a little too cold/wet and melted down. The great part of being on the free learning hill at the local ski area is that we just packed up and went home where it was sunny and warmer!

This was yet another light at the end of the tunnel moment for us. In possibly two, most likely three years we can get a family ski pass to Eldora and start skiing regularly again!

Star Wars

Morgan received Star Wars costumes for Christmas. He's never seen the movies but he still gets into the concept. The costumes have been a lot of fun.

** I just finished a workout in the picture with me, the X-wing fighter, and the storm trooper!

Christmas

We had a great Christmas this year...hopefully you did as well!

Grant: Six Months

Grant turned six months on Dec 1st. His stats are:

Weight = 16lbs 7oz = 20%
Height = 27.25 inches = 70%

No new teeth this month but they're coming. He was pretty fussy and chewy. He can get up on his hands and knees and crawl for awhile. Then he falls down and reverts to the commando scooch. He's also easily sitting himself up.
